It’s that time of year again! Ramadhan, the month-long period when Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset, is also when food bazaars pop up in every nook and cranny of this country! On the first day of bulan puasa, we braved pre-berbuka traffic to venture into Kelana Jaya in search of the best that the neighbourhood can give.
Getting there wasn’t a problem. Parking, however, proved to be a nightmare especially around 6pm. That’s when people get off from work/school, so it can get very crowded at the pasar. If Kelana Jaya is in your must-visit list, then do yourself a favour and park closer to the Giant Supermarket. It’s a 5-min walk but at least you won’t get stuck in the thick of things.
Anyway, the pasar is located in the neighbourhood of SS6/1 – not too far away from Tabung Haji and Giant Hypermarket. Having being in the same place every year, it was nice to spot the same food vendors, alongside newer stalls. Stretching as far as the eye could see, the road was filled with buka puasa favourites like ikan bakar, otak-otak, murtabak, the usual assortment of kuih muih, drinks and more.
