Boycott The film “Tanda Putera”
Everytime UMNO senses it’s losing the support of the Malays, it comes up with racial proaganda to scare them into supporting UMNO again! And this trash is funded by Govt (read OUR) money!! The film potrays the Chinese as violent people beheading Malays etc. and they are the tolerant race who finally couldn’t take it anymore!! In truth, the opposite was true!!) . Prelude to likely aftermath of GE13?
(What really happened on 13 May 1969) [with English Translation]
Many are aware that the film “Tanda Putera” which will be debuted on 13 September 2012.
This film serves as a blatant political propaganda for UMNO and Barisan National, which sole purpose is to unravel the scars of the sensitive racial issues in Malaysia prior to 13th General Election.
From the trailer, we can already tell the film misrepresents the Chinese and Opposition Parties as racial extremists and inciters of the 13 May 1969 Incident.
It further glorifies UMNO, in particular Tun Abdul Razak, who is allegedly believed to single-handedly staged the riot to prevent Malaysia from having democracy.
How about mentioning the fact that the opposition parties had won 50.9% of the general votes and the power hungry UMNO refuse to give up their thrones ?
So they had created series of violence to have an excuse to declare “A State of Emergency,” and conveniently disregarding the election result and denying the spirit of democracy.
You do not have to take my word for granted, please go ahead and google “13 May incident”.
Although Wikipedia is not the best source of information, certain information has more reliability than the “government official reports” because many citations and sources in Wikipedia are taken from foreign media and historians.
The following is a direct quotation on Wikipedia, from Suaram’s director – Dr. Kua Kia Soong’s book – May 13: Declassified Documents on the Malaysian Riots of 1969:
“Many allege that the riots were simply a ploy by the Malay elites of UMNO, as part of their efforts to wrest power from the moderate Tunku Abdul Rahman – in which they succeeded – as well as to further their agenda of Malay supremacy which has dominated Malaysian government policy ever since.”
Suaram also exposed the recent French submarine corruption scandal and the murder of Altantuya involving current Prime Minister – Najib Razak.
In other words, the 13 May 1969 riot was not even about racial issues but a Coup d’état staged to depose the new government elected by the people.
Malaysia should have democracy and 2 party system way back in 1969, but it was the dirty politics UMNO and BN were playing to keep the people under their clutches.
However from there onwards, more and more racial based policies are created to favor the Malays in order to “bribe” the majority ethnic group, the Malays, into supporting UMNO.
UMNO and Barisonal National blamed vernacular schools for “keeping Malaysians apart” (according to Former Prime Minister – Dr. Tun Mahathir)
However, it is the racial based New Economic Policy and racial politics that segregates the country into two – Bumiputras and Non-Bumiputras.
The movie talks about racial/national peace in the end after the malicious demonized portrayal of the Chinese and opposition political parties.
To me, it is just as hypocritical and ironic as the pot calling the kettle black.
Many who experienced the civil unrest in 1969 could still remember that horrifying political situation.
“Tanda Putera” romanticise UMNO’s despicable actions and brainwash the masses into thinking UMNO did a good, hard job in “keeping peace”.
Nothing more but a mere scare tactic deployed by the government to savage what’s left of their reign.
Hypocrisy encourages us to hide our sins underneath veil of virtues, to avoid criticism from others.
This film covers UMNO’s sins underneath veil of Messiah, at the same time, they want us to remember of the consequences of defying against UMNO/BN.
Stop trying to dumb down the intelligence of the Malaysians with those fact twisting and senseless propaganda.
I can only expect, at this rate, there will be another movie named “Operasi Lalang,” portraying Mahathir as the saviour of Malaysia .
Although I suppose Tanda Putera is funded by the government using our tax money, Malaysian should boycott “Tanda Putera”.
In order to make the government understand its futility, and hopefully they will to stop wasting our tax money to producing more propagandas alike.
SHARE this information so that more people around you will be aware of what’s going on in Malaysia .
Thank you for your time, and have a nice day.
