Malaysian Islamic political party PAS wants ban on Elton John show
Chief of PAS said that artistes who are in involved in homosexual activites must not be allowed to perform.

PAS Shah Alam and PAS Youth made headlines for banning MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011 under claims that it was too close to the fasting month and that the venue -i-City, Shah Alam – did not have not have a conducive environment to hold a concert of that large of a scale.

The political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besar came out to say the show will go on, as ‘There is no need for people to question anymore if the concert will be cancelled or not. The decision has been made’ (Source: The Malay Mail).

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011 featured Thirty Seconds to Mars, Neon Tree, Korean pop band B2st and local band Pop Shuvit. Stars like Katy Perry, Wondergirls, The All-American Rejects and Kasabian were featured in the previous years.
